GENERAL FUNCTION

The Retail Sales Analyst will provide reporting, analysis and supporting recommendations for the Retail Analytics team, supporting internal retail-driven initiatives and external client reporting and initiatives. This candidate must be technically very strong and comfortable managing large and complex data sets, while also being able to deliver thoughtful analysis of the data.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, maintain, and deliver accurate and timely standard Point-of-Sale reports for designated area(s) of responsibility on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Interpret report data. Provide charts, tables, and written summaries that highlight key issues, trends and drivers.
  • Produce Ad-Hoc reports accurately and for timely distribution to both internal and external customers. Respond quickly to ad-hoc requests with short notice and deadlines.
  • Achieve technical proficiency for all internal and external data repositories such as each retail customers’ web-sites and FGX’s internal sources of information
  • Partner with Sales on providing fact based insights to drive continued business growth; support sales in preparing for business reviews and joint business planning.
  • Work with Merchant organization to capture and evaluate key business performance analysis of product categories, assortments, price points, location, active and discontinued skus, store volume groups, and comp store performance. Identify opportunities and risks for the business based on evaluation of the merchandising performance.
  • Utilize a variety of information sources, such as POS databases, demographic databases, market surveys, Operational and POS budgets to collect data, identify patterns and perform drill down investigations, exception reporting, or comparative analysis of POS performance.
  • Provide support for the testing of new products, store formats, etc. through POS tracking and analysis of test results. Determine appropriate key performance indicators in advance with merchant teams and evaluate success against those indicators.
  • Monitor the integrity of POS data obtained from either the retailers web-site or FGX’s internal data warehouse. Communicate details of corrupt data when identified.
  • Document abnormal POS demand attributed to promotions and advertising for use in TY/LY reporting and analysis. Maintain an historical log of drivers contributing to abnormal POS weeks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consumer goods experience in analytics and/or category planning (Preferred)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient with MS-Office, including PPT and advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Query desired.
  • Familiar with data warehouses and query tools for data mining.
  • Experience in managing data, preparing, analyzing and interpreting POS reports.
  • Ability to see and speak to the “big picture” and mine the data to find meaning in the numbers and generate conclusions and recommendations to support the business.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,337.49 - $70,414.56 per year
